I am very sorry to hear of the passing of Charles I extend my condolences to the family. We were lab partners in high school and I would not have made it had it not been for his help and humor. A well thought out practical joke brightened a dull day with him around, even though I was the bunt of the joke. I will remember him and the family in my prayers.

I know that he isn't suffering anymore and that he is in a better place and that is a comforting thought. Know that my thoughts and prayers are with you, Mary, Patrick, Chuckie and Chuck. I am sorry that I can't make it to the funeral but know that I am there in mind and spirit. God Bless you all.

The CIDAA family shares with Nancy and her family the grief in the loss of a fine person and friend. Charles, willing and unselfishly, helped the CIDAA Board numerous times over the years whenever his assistance was needed. He was one of the most trusted and reliable members. He will be greatly missed by his CIDAA family and friends. May the Lord be with you and your family and give you comfort and strength to deal with this period of grief. On behalf of the CIDAA Board, Steve Williams CIDAA Secretary

Dear Murphy Family, I am heartly sorry for your tragic loss. Even, though I have only met Mr. Murphy a couple times, the passing away of him has struck me close at heart because of my now deep connection within the Murphy family. The one thing that can comfort us is this time of grieving is that we know he is in a better place, and we will get to see him again someday. My Condolences, Anthony Warrington (Jessica's Brother)

Although Charles and I were CID alumni, we were still 8 years apart in age. Upon learning that Charles’ dad was my professor in electrical engineering at St. Louis University, a special bond developed between Charles and me. His dad was a good professor who used the blackboard extensively to explain the fundamentals - I really enjoyed his classes. I shared with Charles what his dad was like in the classroom, and Charles filled me in on his dad’s life. I could see many similarities between Charles and his dad. Also, our paths became more interwoven as we worked together in various CIDAA activities. Charles was a fine person and friend, someone I enjoyed knowing and working with over the years. His death is indeed a big loss to all of us, and I want to extend my heartfelt sympathy to Nancy and her family. May the Lord bless you and give you strength and comfort.

I am a recent addition to the murphy family, I am his youngest son Chuck's wife. I have a lot of great memories of charlie that I will someday share with his future grandchildren. After we were married we went to the hospital to visit him and he immediatley wanted to hug me and said "welcome to the family." I have never experienced that type of acceptance and genuine kindness before. I will always remember his quick wit, passion for politics(debating with chuck) and his obsession with sports and crossword puzzles, and of course his love for contraband junior mints. I especially will remember his compassionate blue eyes that always seemed to have a child like glint to them. He will be sorely missed by everyone. He was and always will be in a class of his own.
