Name: Cecil Lloyd Ritz Date: January 7th, 1925 - February 17th, 2010 Death Notice: CECIL LLOYD RITZ, passed from this life and went home to Jesus, late Wednesday evening, 17 February 2010, at the age of 85. He died peacefully, surrounded by family. Survived by his children, Donna Reinhart and David Ritz; granchildren, Andrew and Allison Reinhart; sister Geneva McNew. Preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Velma Jean (nee Hughes) Ritz; parents, Jacob Albert and Minnie Mae (nee Hicks) Ritz; siblings Thelma Miller, Alma Prier, Lela Power, Carl Ritz and Norma Ritz; beloved brother-in-law, uncle, cousin and friend. Cecil enlisted in the Navy after graduating from Licking High School. He served as a Seaman-1C in the Pacific on the USS Smalley during WWII. He was a faithful servant of our Lord Jesus Christ and served many roles, official and unofficial at church and in his community, including deaconships at Fourth Baptist, Bellefontaine Baptist, and Hazelwood Baptist Churches. He was a real estate broker for more than 30 years. He is sorely missed by all who knew him. Services: Visitation 4-9 p.m. Wed., Feb. 24 at HUTCHENS Mortuary, 675 Graham Rd., Florissant and 12 -1 p.m. Thurs. at church. Funeral service 1 p.m. Thurs., Feb. 25 at Hazelwood Baptist Church, 6161 Howdershell Rd., Hazelwood, MO 63042. Interment with full military honors at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
